34 weeks

I think we are as ready as we can be for Oscar. I had a fabulous baby shower from my bestest friends Brandy and Trish on the 17th. They went above and beyond anything I could have expected! They are truly the best friends a girl could ask for! Thanks you guys! I love you both so much. (I will do a post with the pics from the shower later, I have to figure out how to use my new camera first!)
On the 20th Daniel and I started the "Preparing for Childbirth" classes. They basically went over everything that we have already gone through with pregnancy up to this point. Then we learned some relaxing techniques, which included the coaches (Daniel) to give massages to the moms to be...heavenly!  I tried telling him that we had to go home and practice for at least 2 hours every night...he wouldn't go for it! We have 3 more classes and I think that they are going to be very good for me and Daniel.  It's gonna help me and Daniel to know what to expect when I go into labor.
So lately I have had really, really swollen feet and ankles. Last night my right foot got so bad that I was limping when I walked because it hurt so bad. I put my feet up for about an hour and a half and iced them the entire time, then Daniel rubbed them for a bit. They felt better after that but they were still swollen. I can't believe I'm going to post a pic of this...but here is a pic of my right foot AFTER I iced and Daniel rubbed them
It doesn't look like I have an ankle. And my poor toes look like sausages. I can't wear any shoes except for my flip flops...it's a good thing they are so comfy! So last night we decide to experiment. We some 2 by 4's and put 2 under each leg at the foot of the bed to see if that would help the swelling go down. I got up this morning and looked down at my feet........I had ankles again!!!!!! It wasn't the most comfortable sleep in the world (my head was smashed up against the head board most of the night) but I think it's worth it for the relief in my ankles and feet!
Here is what baby and mom are up to at 34 weeks.
Your Pregnancy: Week 34
No, it's not (just) the lack of sleep that's making your vision fuzzy. Pregnancy hormones and fluid buildup can affect your eyes' curvature and tear production, making them extra-itchy and sensitive. No matter what your vision's like, take a look toward the light -- less than two months to go!
Baby's now the size of a honeydew!

Baby can recognize and react to simple songs...time to start practicing your lullabies! In fact, baby will recognize frequently sung tunes after birth and probably find them soothing. Less cute news: She now urinates about one pint per day. Get the diapers ready!

Only 6 more weeks to go! Here I am with my growing belly!

Oh girly... those ankles look horribly uncomfortable. But you look great. Keep your head up, the end is near.
