08/16/09

The 16th Daniel and I celebrated our one year anniversary. (Already made it longer than my first marriage ;) ) We had a very low key celebration. That morning I got up to go hike Mnt. Naomi (while Daniel went to his soccer game). It was my first time on that trail. What a beautiful hike! The wildflowers where out like crazy, if I didn't know better I would have thought it was the middle of June not the middle of August. Enjoy some pics I took...

After the hike, I went home and got ready to spend the night out with Daniel. He took me out to eat at Beehive (I can't get enough!). Then we went home and watched a movie. Like I said, very low key...very us! We agreed not to get each other anything because we are going to the CCR concert on Sept. 4th, so we figure that is our gifts for us! (yeah, can't wait!!!)

I can't believe it's been a year already, boy did that fly by! I guess it's cause we have so much fun together. Daniel is truly my best friend and I love just being near him. I've never felt so safe and secure in some ones arms. It is such a blessing to have him as my husband. What an awesome 1st year anniversary and I can't wait to celebrate a lifetime of anniversaries with him!

Monty is now 1 year old. It's so sad that I can't call him a puppy anymore...but he is still just as cute and even more cuddly!
Adding Monty to our small family was one of the best things we ever did! Daniel and I have so much fun with him and can be entertained for hours by him. He has the sweetest heart, always wanting to be everyones friend. To put if best (as my mom says) his theme song should be "Come On Get Happy" by the Partridge Family!

Just wanted to share some photos I got of the sunset on the sixth of August. And that night was a full moon, so I decided to try the night mode on my camera. (I really need to invest in a tripod!)

My Aug. so far

Well my August hasn't started out so great. On the 4th I had surgery done on my gums. On the front bottom of my mouth, I have (had) receding gums and was starting to have some bone loss on my two front bottom teeth so I figured it was time to fix that! WARNING: those with weak stomachs, do not view photos below!
This is right after the surgery

You can't see very well in this pic, but there on the top left (or my right side) of my mouth you can see a black spot...that is where they took the gums from to attach to bottom gums.

(another embarrassing pic!) this is me the day after surgery...not doing (or looking) so hot!

Looks like fun huh? Anyway, I'm doing way better now. After I realized that I had an infection which caused the left side of my face to completely swell and it hurt oh-so-bad. I think that the infection was also causing excruciating headaches. I ended up calling my doctor on his cell phone on a Saturday because I couldn't handle the pain any more. He called in a prescription for me and by the next day I was felling 95% better. It has been quite an ordeal. Thank goodness for my wonderful husband! He waited on me hand and foot for about 4 days straight. He is such a patient man and absolutely love his guts!
Thank you to everyone for the calls and well wishes! I think I'm finally starting to show improvement! HOORAY!!! (lets all hope that the rest of my Aug. won't be as traumatizing!)

July round-up

July is over already? and we're almost into the 2nd week of August? Aaaah. Well let me catch you up on some of our (or rather my) recent adventures. I went hiking up to the waterfall up High Creek (can't remember when...just that it was sometime in July) Here are some pics of that hike.
The hike was beautiful and so was the waterfall. The most amazing part was when we hiked up to the top of the fall we saw that all that water was coming straight from the mountain...breath taking!
On the 24th of July, we went up crimson again because I heard that there were a ton of Sego Lillies out and I have never seen them. So of course I had to go get some pics of the state flower! (and naturally I got pics of others!)
After the hike we went over to my mom's for a bbq. We had tons of food and fun. After we all ate (btw Daniel makes a mean hamburger!!!) we all took our chairs out the the street and watched the fireworks. We had a ton of fun. Daniel got drunk enough to say to me and my mom that he was "blowing bubbles with my talk!" Oh I can't remember the last time I laughed that hard!
Well, somewhere in between we took a ride to right hand fork and went up to the hobbit caves. I wanted to try using my camera in manual mode and take some photos of the river. I really need to invest in a tripod. But for my first time taking these types if pics, I don't think they turned out that bad. I guess practice makes perfect.
